At Diamond Crystal®, we’ve spent nearly 140 years crafting salt products designed to make the good things in life even better.

A Singular Purpose

Our pursuit of crafting a better salt centers on a patient commitment to craftsmanship and doing one thing exceptionally well.

It all begins at our St. Clair, Michigan location, the world’s only facility producing authentic Alberger® salt. Here, our team crafts the signature hollow, pyramid-shaped crystals chefs love, using a one-of-a-kind process that delivers the quality, consistency and performance that has defined Diamond Crystal® for generations.

Invention and Founding

Diamond Crystal® Salt is Founded

The St. Clair Rock Salt Company begins operations using the Alberger process and soon adopts the name Diamond Crystal® Salt Company. The following year, Charles F. Moore and his associates gain control, beginning generations of Moore family leadership.
